The Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association will be working hard to again provide a competitive Junior C Hockey League for players ages 18-20.
After a good start to Junior C Hockey in 2011-2012, there was not sufficient interst for the 2012-2013 season.
The SMHA has asked the local Junior B team operators to help spread the word that there will be a Junior C league in Saskatoon again in 2013-2014.
The Saskatoon Royals, Saskatoon Quakers, Saskatoon Westleys and the Delisle Chiefs all support a Junior C league in Saskatoon. Currently, players that are 18-20 years of age cannot be affiliated to Junior B teams in this area since there is no league to affiliate from.
Junior C gives players in this age group the chance to continue to play competitive contact hockey in a Junior hockey set up. Players can be affiliated to Junior B and this also provides them with the chance to make the jump to Junior B at age 19 or 20 after continuing to develop in Junior C.
Junior C players do not have to permanently reside in Saskatoon so it is a great league for players from outside Saskatoon moving to Saskatoon to attend school or to work.
Please insure to spread the word to your fellow 18-20 year old players. Thank you for the interest!
